FAQ
Do I need a Doctors referral?
No, physiotherapy services can be accessed by anyone! If you did receive a referral from your physician, please bring it with you to your appointment. Some private insurance providers do require a physician referral be obtained prior to your physiotherapy appointment in order for coverage to be approved. Please check with your insurance provider for terms and conditions related to your policy.
Will private insurance cover the cost of my visit?
Prior to your visit you will need to check the terms and conditions of your policy with your provider to determine if a specific referral is required in order to be eligible for insurance coverage. If a claim is denied you will be responsible for the cost of the appointment.
Do you provide direct billing to insurance providers?
We do offer direct billing to some insurance companies, including Telus E-Claims, Blue Cross and Provider Connect. Please contact our clinic to enquire if direct billing to your insurance provider is an option. Costs not covered by your insurance provider need to be paid at the time of your appointment.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
- Indoor running shoes or supportive footwear.
- Clothing that is easy to move in and allows access to the body part that needs to be assessed. For example shorts for a knee injury.
- A water bottle.
- Any device that you currently use. For example a brace or splint.
- Insurance information if applicable.
- Referral form if you have one.
- Any post operative directions that you have received.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice will be charged a $40.00 cancellation fee. Patients who do not attend a scheduled appointment and do not call to cancel or reschedule (“no show”), will be charged a full visit charge. This fee is not eligible to be reimbursed by your extended health coverage provider.
WCB (Workers Compensation Board)
If you were injured at worked and have received a claim number from WCB the Physiotherapist will require this number at your initial visit. Your initial assessment fees are automatically covered by WCB, but any further coverage is dependent on claim approval.
MPI (Manitoba Public Insurance)
If you sustain injuries from a motor vehicle accident you will need a Bodily Injury Claim number from MPI. The physiotherapist will require this number to allow for all assessment and treatment fees to be covered by MPI.
